9 capabilities under 1 roof

From a fish-spine bead to a wet-pressed porcelain grid resistor. We hold the bodies, the tooling, and the firing schedules in-house.

/ 01

Alumina Ceramics

92-99% pure alumina. Wear-resistant plates, tubes, and any formed shape your application demands.

High-purity alumina is the workhorse of technical ceramics. Exceptional hardness, thermal stability, and electrical insulation.

/ 02

Ceramic Insulators

Power parts, porcelain bodies, and glazed high-voltage insulators for energy and transmission applications.

Engineered for dielectric strength at extreme voltages.

/ 03

Silicon Carbide

Kiln furniture, refractory tubes, liners, and plates rated for the most aggressive thermal environments.

Superior thermal shock resistance and chemical inertness at temperatures above 1600 degrees C.

/ 04

Extrusion

Long tubes and square sections in cordierite, steatite, and porcelain bodies, produced to your spec.

Continuous extrusion for repeatable cross-sections in volume.

/ 05

Dry Pressing

Small to medium globe holders, complex shapes, fish spine beads, and bushings produced at scale.

Tight tolerances and high throughput for production runs.

/ 06

Wet Pressing

Large porcelain components, alumina blocks, and grid resistors that other manufacturers cannot tool for.

The right method when geometry, size, or material rules out dry pressing.

/ 07

Technical Expertise

Design and IP development with a hard focus on lowest viable cost and realistic budgets.

Bring us a problem; we work backward to the cheapest body that still meets spec.

/ 08

Body Production

Bespoke ceramic body formulation. We blend and mill to a specification we engineer with you.

Off-the-shelf bodies do not always fit. We make custom bodies that do.

/ 09

Wire Wound Resistors

Fixed and variable power resistors of every common rating, built into our own ceramic bodies.

Vertically integrated from body to wound assembly.

Ceramic Bodies

18 bodies. 1 supplier.

If your spec calls for it, we either stock it or we mill it. Custom body formulation is part of what makes us the largest in Australia.

Not sure which body fits? Send us the application notes (operating temperature, chemical environment, mechanical load, electrical requirements) and we will recommend the cheapest body that meets the spec. Not the most expensive one we can sell you.

Where our parts end up

The applications below are not theoretical. We have been shipping into each of these sectors for decades.

Sector / 01

Defence

Ceramic components for armour, sensors, and electrical isolation. Australian manufacture, Australian supply chain, AISA-aware for sovereign-capability programs.

Sector / 02

Mining

Wear-resistant alumina liners, plates, and cyclones for slurry, abrasive, and high-impact environments. Sites supported across NSW, WA, QLD, and SA.

Sector / 03

Aerospace

Precision-ground alumina, zirconia, and nitride parts for thermal management, ignition, sensor housings, and structural applications.

Sector / 04

Manufacturing

Kiln furniture, fixtures, refractories, and ceramic tooling that survive the duty cycles your line actually runs. Repeatable, locally-stocked, on lead-time.

Why TCA

The reasons buyers re-order

There are smaller workshops and there are overseas suppliers. There is no other Australian manufacturer that combines this scale, this range, and this much engineering experience under 1 roof.

30 years on-shore

Formed in 1996 and privately owned. The same company you spec today will still be here when the part comes up for re-order.

Australia's largest by revenue

The largest manufacturer of general technical ceramics in Australia. Scale lets us tool for runs other shops would refuse.

Exporter to 4 continents

More than 25% of our revenue ships overseas (South Africa, Mexico, UAE, USA). Our QA is built for customers who will not accept rework.

Body up to assembly

We mill our own bodies, press or extrude them, fire them, and (for wire-wound) wind the assembly. One supplier, one accountable line.

Cost-first engineering

We start with your budget and work backward to the cheapest body that meets the spec. No over-spec, no over-quote.

65 years of collective expertise

Our shop floor holds genuine institutional knowledge, the kind you cannot hire on the open market in Australia anymore.

Process

From spec to part

A clear handoff from your engineering team to ours. No mystery, no wait-and-see.

  1. STEP 01

Send your spec or your problem

Drawings, samples, photos of the part you are replacing, or just a description of what is failing. We will tell you within 2 business days whether ceramic is the right answer.

  2. STEP 02

    Body and process selection

We recommend the ceramic body (often 1 of our 18+ options), the forming method, and the firing schedule that fits your run size and budget.

  3. STEP 03

    Quote and prototype

A firm quote with realistic lead time. For new geometries we tool a prototype first and prove it before tooling for volume.

  4. STEP 04

    Production and QA

Manufactured here in Australia. Dimensional and material QA before despatch. Re-order is straightforward because the body and tooling are ours.

FAQ

Answers before you call

If your question is not here, ring 0417 076 667 or use the form below. Most quotes come back within 2 business days.

Do you do one-offs or only volume runs?
Both. We tool for production volumes most weeks, but we also take one-off and prototype work, especially when the customer is sizing up a larger run or replacing a discontinued part.
What is the smallest and largest part you can make?
From fish-spine beads a few millimetres across to wet-pressed porcelain components weighing several kilograms. If you have a drawing, we can tell you in the first call whether we have the right tooling and forming method.
Which ceramic body should I choose?
That is exactly what our technical team is for. The 'right' body depends on operating temperature, chemical environment, mechanical load, electrical requirements, and budget. We will recommend the cheapest body that meets your spec, not the most expensive one we can sell.
Can you reverse-engineer a part I am currently importing?
Yes. Send us the part (or photos and dimensions) and the application notes. A significant share of our work is replacing imported ceramic components with locally-made equivalents at similar or lower landed cost.
Do you export?
More than 25% of our revenue is export. South Africa, Mexico, UAE, USA among others. We are set up for international shipping, documentation, and the QA standards overseas customers require.
How fast can I get a quote?
Within 2 business days for standard enquiries. Complex custom bodies or new tooling may take longer, but you will hear from us with a realistic timeline within that 2-day window.
